Project Launch for the Inmates of Sednaya Prison

Turgay Aldemir, President of Bülbülzade Foundation, and the accompanying delegation attended the launch of the Individual Restorative Measures (IRM) Project organized by the Civil Law Association on Wednesday, December 18 at Zade Life Hotel. At the launch, the details of IRM, one of the most important projects for human rights violations, justice and social reparation processes, were shared with the public.*850 Victims Supported*The project was implemented for 850 former inmates of Sednaya Prison who have been subjected to gross human rights violations, traumatized and disengaged from social life for many years. Within the scope of the work, victims are provided with support in four main areas:* * Psychological Support:* Therapy sessions were organized with expert psychologists to help them overcome their traumas and regain their mental health.* * Livelihood Support:* Vocational training programs and job opportunities were provided to help former prisoners gain economic independence.* *Educational Services:* Personal development and vocational training courses were organized for victims whose education processes were interrupted or who did not have the opportunity to receive education.* *Health Services:* Comprehensive health services and treatment were provided to help them cope with their physical health problems. *An Important Step for Justice and Social Reparation*Speaking at the launch, representatives of the Civil Law Association stated that the IRM Project not only aims to bring individuals back to life, but also offers an important model for ensuring social peace and justice. It was also emphasized that the project aims to raise awareness on human rights violations during times of war and oppression.

On Thursday, 19 December 2024, the 2nd Negotiation Meeting with the theme of “Young People's Ideas in the Construction of New Syria” was held at the Bülbülzade Foundation headquarters. The event, organized by the Anatolian Student Union, was met with intense participation and interest.In the meeting, which started at 17:00, the suggestions and solutions of young people for the construction process of the new Syria were discussed. The program was organized in an interactive format, allowing participants to actively share their ideas. Discussions focused on the role of youth in education, economy, social cohesion and peace-building.The young people participating in the event emphasized the importance of such platforms for the exchange of ideas and the production of common solutions, and expressed their hopes and expectations for the future. At the end of the meeting, it was decided to report the suggestions and forward them to the relevant authorities.

The program was held on Tuesday, December 17 at the Bülbülzade Foundation headquarters.In the program, which started with a dinner with the participation of the members of the Tradesmen Commission, Foundation President Turgay Aldemir made important evaluations on the latest situation in the recently liberated regions of Syria. Writer Yıldız Ramazanoğlu also participated in the program. She shared her perspective and thoughts on the current process with the participants.The Hasbihal Program ended after the question and answer session.

On Friday, December 13, Psychologist Zeynep Kömür performed the “Subconscious Forest Test” at İslahiye Yaşam 1 Child Life Center.Applied to women between the ages of 20 and 45, the “Subconscious Forest Test” is a projective test that aims to understand the inner world and unconscious processes of individuals. Participants express their emotional states and the main themes in their lives through the symbols they encounter in the forest and the emotions they feel. The test results can be used to increase self-awareness and guide therapeutic processes.Psychological support programs will continue periodically.

An analysis of Norman G. Finkelstein's book “Holocaust Industry” was realized within the scope of the Read and Comment project of the Anatolian Student Union. With the presentation of İbrahim Özmantar and moderated by Tevfik Çayraz, the facts of the Holocaust were discussed.In his book “Holocaust Industry”, Finkelstein explains how the suffering of the Holocaust was monetized and how this money was withheld from the real Holocaust victims, and how the US used the Jewish lobby and Israel. He warns the reader not to believe in crocodile tears. He reminds the reader that anyone who remains silent about Israel's actions cannot be sincere in his opposition to the Holocaust, and that those who perpetrated the Holocaust and those who deny or exploit it are cut from the same cloth.

Anadolu Student Union Gaziantep Branch organized a talk on “The Return of Syrians and Our Responsibilities” at Pusula Bookstore in the university.The conversation started with the presentation of Mahmut Kaçmazer moderated by Şehadet Gerçek. Mahmut Kaçmazer gave some information about the situations that have occurred since the Syrian civil war. He also talked about the gains of the spirit created by this struggle for 13 years.In the program, Syrian students studying at Gaziantep University expressed their feelings and thoughts about the liberated Syrian lands. During the interview, slogans of “Free Syria” were chanted from time to time.Information was given about all the projects and works carried out by Bülbülzade Foundation in this 13-year period.The interactive conversation ended with a collective photo shoot.

Officials from the Bülbülzade Foundation and the Anatolian Federation paid a visit to Aleppo, which has recently regained its freedom.Foundation President Turgay Aldemir and a group of officials first visited the Anatolian Cultural Center in Al-Bab. After receiving information from the officials about the work carried out at the center, a breakfast session was organized.Afterwards, the delegation performed Friday prayers at Rawda Mosque in the center of Aleppo. After the prayer, the delegation met with the people on the streets of Aleppo, distributed gifts to children and chatted with the residents.Another important stop of the visit was the office of Aleppo Governor Abdulwahab Daas. During the meeting, information was received about the new page opened by Aleppo after the fall of the Assad regime, the difficulties experienced in the reconstruction process, humanitarian needs and efforts to revitalize social life. Information was given about the activities of Bülbülzade Foundation for Syrian citizens in Turkey and in safe areas since 2011 until this new process.After the visit to the governor, the delegation attended the events organized in Aleppo's famous Sadullah Al-Jabiri Square for the liberation of Syria. At the end of the day, after meetings with prominent figures of the region, the delegation went to Aleppo Castle. The visit ended with a group photo taken at Aleppo Castle.
