The second international activity within the scope of the Erasmus+ KA210 project “Active Citizenship Guide for Young People” carried out by Bilimder and partnered by Tavo Europa from Lithuania was held in Gaziantep between 9-13 May 2025. The event was hosted by Bülbülzade Foundation.
During the event, the Guidebook on Active Citizenship for Youth, which is being prepared within the scope of the project, was discussed. The content draft of the guide was evaluated and consultations were held regarding the dissemination process. One of the important topics of the program was the consortium work on the themes of volunteering, democratic participation, digital citizenship and social responsibility.
Within the scope of the program, BEKAM President Mehmet Ali Eminoğlu made a presentation on “Active Citizenship Pathways for Youth”. A visit to Gaziantep City Council was also organized during the event. Yusuf Erdem Güzelbey, Chairman of the Executive Board, gave information about the functioning of the council and youth activities. A city tour was organized under the guidance of Hüseyin Rahmi Açıkkol, President of the Sports Working Group.
The event ended with the planting of saplings in the Kurtuluş Forest of Bülbülzade Foundation. At the end of the program, YouthPass certificates were presented to all participants. The Active Citizenship Guide for Young People, which is planned to be published in June, will be made available to young people and civil society organizations active in the youth field. The guide will include content that will encourage the active participation of young people in democratic life.
The first activity of the project was held in Vilnius, Lithuania on July 27 - August 2, 2024. In the first event, workshops on youth work, youth access to democratic participation processes and basic needs were held and the foundations of the guide were laid.
